I am not up on ebay rules, but I _think_ the final
fees are not charged if you are not ending the
listing to sell to the highest bidder. It makes
sense to me that if you lost the item you are
selling, then you want to cancel your listing and
should only be obligated to pay for the insertion
fee. I'd guess that if you say to ebay that you
are ending the auction early to sell to the
highest bidder, then you will be charged the
ending fees. If anyone knows better, feel free to
speak up.
