If a person has an online gallery, chances are
good that they are honest. This is because they
are publicly collecting, and if they want to
continue collecting, they will most likely avoid
making unwise choices, such as scamming someone.
Like someone mentioned, most people come to this
forum. If word gets out about a person scamming,
even once, it wouldn't take very long for the
entire community to find out. (As well as ruin
this person's collecting reputation for a while).
Collectors come here not only to show off cels,
or advertise sales and updates, but to warn
people about someone, if neccesary. I've seen
several warnings about bad ebayers on this forum,
and have found it very helpful.

Needless to say, you have come to the right place
to ask this question. Being new is scary, and
it's always nice to know that there is someone to
help.

Even though this community is overall kind and
helpful, don't let your guard down. There are
some rare instances where someone will try to
take advantage of your newbie-ness. The old
saying: if it sounds to good to be true, it
probably is. And if you're still unsure, just ask
someone. With a hobby that so much money and
sentimental value is involved in, you can't be
too cautious.

Welcome to cel collecting! Please check your
sanity and your wallet at the door :D
