Eesh, thats some friend!  Although as a seller 
myself, I admit I would be a little irritated if 
my bidder wanted to 'back out', regardless of 
the situation (so many excuses after awhile tend 
to make sellers bitter to the point where it 
doesn't matter if the reason is true or not 
anymore)- so if I were you, to avoid a bad 
feedback, I would offer to send compensation for 
the listing fees, as those cannot be refunded by 
eBay.  That may make the seller more open to 
letting you out of the deal.  I hope it works 
out for you! :)
