OK, here is what I found when I read that passage:
"How long do coronaviruses survive in the environment?
In general, enveloped viruses such as
coronaviruses do not last a long time in the
environment. In earlier studies, a different
coronavirus was shown to survive for up to 3 hours
on surfaces. At this time, it is uncertain how
long the newly discovered coronavirus associated
with SARS can survive in the environment. In one
preliminary study, researchers in Hong Kong found
that both dried and liquid samples of the new
coronavirus survived as long as 24 hours in the
environment. Additional studies are under way to
examine this important question."

Now, what seems uncertain to me is how long they
can survive if the they are in an air-sealed
environment like a container?? That is what makes
me a bit uneasy about this. From what I have
studied in my Microbiology class, some "air born"
type viruses can survive much longer if the air is
sealed like in a container to where the conditions
are favorable. Now, as they say, they are still
uncertain as to how long precisely it can survive
which is why I have had people telling me to not
receive packages from those countries as they know
I am a very big internet shopper.

I just wanted to post this warning to everyone so
they can be aware about this and take the
necessary precautions.
