I bumped into this when searching around for an 
answer. They recommend Lacquer based paints for 
best results but also say that water based 
acrylics will work if you are careful with 
preparation. The big thing seems to be the 
cleaning before painting. 

I've heard a few people say it's a must to clean 
all the parts with soapy water first due to 
chemicals that may cause problems with the paint. 
These people go a step further and recommend a 
mould release agent, but I'm not sure how common 
this is. ( I've not painted a resin kit yet )
