I don't have an answer for you right away 
unfortunately, but I belong to a yahoo group that 
does a lot of japanese model work, painting etc. 
It so happens I have a resin kit myself and your 
question reminded me as I don't know either! I've 
dropped them a note and will let you know if they 
have any good pointers.
