Heh, you've never seen Japester in the dealer's 
room.

Actually, for that matter, you must not know 
many men at all.  ^_~  I should point out here 
that the main reason one of our better-known 
dealerish colleagues paid so much for... shall 
we say... a sizeable number of Ryoko cels is 
because he had so much rabid competition for 'em 
from fellow curve-lovers.  And you should see 
the fracas that erupts on Yahoo Japan whenever a 
limited-edition resin statue of a popular, sexy 
anime girl shows up for auction.  Men not only 
can fight like idiots over a nice set of 
breasts, but they've been doing so since the 
days of Troy.

As for the whole stereotype of women loving 
shopping, I'm not even going to get into it.  
I'm not in the mood for a fruitless argument 
today.  Let's just say that for me and nearly 
every other woman and man I know, 
shopping is a means to an end, which is to say 
making sure that we have the things we need.  
Some women enjoy shopping, just as some men 
enjoy shopping, and that's just as much their 
prerogative as browsing for cels or reading a 
good book is mine.  It doesn't mean you have to 
generalize their tastes to all of us.

Oh, look, I guess I am in the mood for a 
fruitless argument after all.  I simply can't 
let cliched images represent my gender without 
making a comment.  :P  Particularly not today, 
when I'm in a foul mood to start with.

Shopping, sheesh...
