Panicware Pop-Up Stopper. It's worth it's weight 
in gold. I only have a freebie copy here on the 
desktop machine, but my husband has the paid-for 
version on his laptop.

It's not perfect, but the only things I still see 
are the "download this" boxes. Still annoying, 
yes, but clicking the "no" button a couple times 
is far preferable to closing literally 10 plus 
new windows every time I try to read a post. @_@;
