I found Power DVD 5 for sale quite reasonably
cheap at a computer show. It lets you capture
multiple screencaps (just keep hitting the
hotkey), and you can pause before doing the
capture, and it lets you choose the resolution of
the capture. I'd been disappointed with the
earlier version, and didn't like the capture
available with the bundled dvd-viewing software
that comes with laptops with WinXP either.
Alternately, you can use Photoimpact 6 - activate
its capture utility, designate resolution and
where you want the capture to go (clipboard,
file, screen), then play your cd/dvd, pause where
you want it and hit the F12 hotkey. Not as
flexible as PowerDVD5, and it captures the whole
window, so you'll have cropping to do, but at
least an option. |
