My heart goes out to you and your family. I want 
to send my warmest wishes, as well as a little 
bit of advice. Since surgery is a serious matter 
for both humans and animals, it is always good 
to get a second opinion. Since the illness is 
very serious in Steve's case, you may get the 
same diagnosis and a similar recommendation for 
surgery--however, some doctors have less 
invasive techniques that provide for better 
recovery. I think a second opinion would also 
benefit Clive.
