I can sympathise entirely Evilminion. Last
weekend, my beloved puppy, Yuki managed to get
hold of some Ibuprofen tablets, which he ate
with great delight. I was worried and got him
straight to the emergency vet but nothing
prepared me for when she said she would have to
take him home and monitor him all night because
there was every chance he would die (Ibuprofen
can cause the stomach to rupture).
Needless to say, I got no sleep, waiting and
watching the phone, expecting it to ring and
fearing the worst. This continued through from
Saturday night to Tuesday night when she finally
said he was likely to be over the worst and we
could take him home. Today we took him to the
beach - an event this time last week I thought
we'd never see.
Me and my hubby have no children either and
although we've only had Yuki a few months, he's
everything to us. The thought that we might lose
him was unbearable. So I wish you and your
little guys the best. Vets CAN do wonderful
things as someone else said and I hope you get
the outcome you desire.
To cheer you up, here's a pic of our lil guy,
proudly showing what he's done to my kitchen
floor. This was a couple of months ago - now
we've just got bare concrete!
