Hmm.. when they say "image" are they referring to 
the character or the scan?  The character would 
be copyright its creator so you would not be able 
to claim the character.  (Most of the cel 
galleries I've browsed have a disclaimer stating 
such.)  However, you created the actual scan so 
you should have claim to that.

So... you have claim to the image because it's 
your scan but... you don't have claim to the 
image because it's not your character.  The 
fanlisting should credit you for use of your scan 
and the creator for use of his/her character.

I think TFL went a bit far in saying you stole 
the image in the first place though.  Sheesh.  
How did you word your original email?  Did you 
refer to your cel scan with "character", "image", 
or "scan"?  Plus, you even have a disclaimer on 
your site stating, "All series names and images 
belong to their respective companies and 
creators."  So.. technically... I suppose you 
could be violating copyright because you're using 
another person's character without permission... 
BUT you're not claiming to own the character just 
the scans you created.

At least.. that's how I see it.  ^^;;
