That sounded a lot more harsh than I meant it 
to.  I intended to say that there are legitimate 
reasons why you might not have understood how or 
why you insulted a group of people. (not everyone 
thinks the same way mainstream U.S. thinks)

I've gotten totally bent over slurs (or imagined 
slurs) against people of differing abilities, 
colors, religions, sexual orientations or 
countries ever since I was in grade school ever 
so many decades ago and was told I couldn't do 
something because I was "a girl."  So please 
accept my apologies if I went a little off the 
deep end there.

It's just that there are lots of people who would 
see your original comment as an insult.

Hope your foot heals (pun intended) soon.  I 
broke one of mine in high school. It's no fun.
