If it's what I suspect it is -- a mod chip for a
video game console -- then you probably DON'T
want to take that to a repair shop, since I
believe mod chips are illegal in most European
countries, as they technically are here (USA).
The mod chips in my consoles were all installed
by a friend of mine who used to do a lot of
circuit board work as part of her job. From
everything I saw, installing one could EASILY be
screwed up by someone who didn't know exactly
what they were doing. (Hence why hitting it would
make it work.)
