What to do when..? (Thu Apr 22 16:02:30 2004 )

I bought something from a very popular cel- and
stuffdealer. This something, as I found out once
it was too late, is KNOWN and feared by users to
KILL the thing it's being used for, usually
without doing what it is supposed to do (like,
aspirine kills you without healing your headache
and even if it doesn't kill you, it won't heal
your headache, get the picture?).
Now, I do like shopping there as they have
interesting items. But this sooooo pisses me
off!!! A seller should know what he's selling,
and WARN ppl, before having them buy that thing,
ruin their $200-device by using it (strictly
according to instructions); he should tell them
that risks are involved.
It wasn't a cel, but it was still money (anything
beyond $10 is money). And the device it ruined
was $199. Not something you can ruin and replace
everyday.

I really want to [beep], but on the other hand, I
want to continue shopping at his online shop. His
service is very nice, and so are his items. But
he did lure me into ruining something very
important. So much so that I'd trade my stupid
dog for a new one, no questions asked. But nobody
wants that mutt, so... problem?

Now my $199 device... only functions when I give
it a hard, but "carefully measured" (<--not my
strong point) punch, which may one day ruin it
for good. The warranty is screwed by applying
the "thing" I bought. That device was my one and
only visual entertainment if you don't count the
PC. Now it's working shifts with my punching bag.

And, I want my money back on one hand, but I
don't feel like paying for shipping that stupid
thing on the other hand.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to settle
this?

Thanks
Anna
