...at the beginning of my collecting career, I
used to feel the way you did. But I learned very
quickly ordering cels to justify shipping is the
exact wrong thing to do, as I normally wasn't
attached to those cels, and would try to sell
them again not long after getting them, to no
avail. Then, when dream cels would come up, I
wouldn't have the money for them. And all I would
see looking at my lesser cels was a wasted
opportunity...if I had had restraint, the one cel
I WANTED would have been mine. I mean, I felt
nice having lotsa little cels, but after that it
just seemed useless to be in the hobby if all I
was gonna get was stuff I didn't really want and
waste my chance to get the thing I wanted.
So now I don't get every cute little cel I see. I
also feel that my tastes have changed, and I
don't really like "little" cels anymore...and
looking at galleries full of little cels tends to
get tedious, too. I don't like galleries with -
lots- of cels, really, unless they're of a high
quality...I just get tired of them. But when a
look at a gallery, though small, is all high
quality, I'm in absolute awe. And, after time,
those small high quality galleries become -BIG-
high quality galleries (like Debbye's, whose
gallery is tons of fun to look at, because it is
composed almost enteirely of high quality cels;
whereas if it were tons of lesser cels, I
probably wouldn't give it the time of day...I can
see tiny cels anywhere, but I can't see high
quality cels everywhere).
Just my opinion.
