Hmm... I think that with the seriousness of the 
Kenshin OVA's that the "blunt" style noses as you 
put it are very fitting. The OVA's are made to 
look more "realistic". In the TV show however.. 
you notice a lot of SD action... ^_~.. that just 
wouldn't work with the "dark and serious" tone of 
the kenshin OVA's, ya know? 

Though, I haven't seen the NEW kenshin OVA, and 
I'm guessing it's very serious as well (from art 
style). So I guess it's all personal preference.
