I simply * * MUST * * rant about this. . .
My credit card expires at the end of this month.
I got the new one in the mail, activated it, and
went to confirm the new expiration date in my
Paypal account. Simple right? Never. . . ~_~
First I get told it won't confirm automatically.
My CC company confirms that the card is 100%
good - as I knew it was - and I have them call
Paypal and find out what the #@*% their problem
is. Paypal tells us my CC company's computer is
down somewhere. Which the girl at my CC company
confirms from a manager, but it will be up by 8am
the next morning. Okay I'll try again then.
So I try - the computer is up but the card still
won't confirm. This time I call Paypal *myself*
to find out what exactly is the crisis? (And all
this after having been told last week that my
*STILL VALID* 12/01 card was no good. . . the
crisis had better be *damn* interesting. ~_~)
It's not. The guy tells me the address is what
isn't matching up. No, I say - I checked that.
But it turns out that if there is so much as a '.'
after "Ave" in one which isn't in the other, it
won't allow the confirmation. Okay, so I'll look
it up and change the address. No - that's no good
either, I get told. If you try to confirm a card
once and it fails, you *HAVE* to use the $1.95
charge confirmation. What if I delete the card
and change the address? No good - the system
recognizes it's the same card put back in. So why
wasn't I told this to begin with?? Uh, they
should have told me. Call? No, they can't call in
a verification.
>_<
Me: "I know you don't make the rules, so no
offense, but this is completely assinine."
Him: "Would you like me to register that as a
complaint?"
I said yes. >_< But it's one more instance of
Paypal users beware. ~_~ What I'm going to do
without credit card access online during the
Christmas season is going to be interesting. ~_~
