"Give me ONE reason to treat someone with respect
while not getting te same in return, then maybe I
can afford to regard you as a worthy human, not
what my cats drop in their litter pans."
Easily. Because when you treat someone you look
down upon with equal respect and more
understanding as a human being, you single-handed
prove the fact that you are better than them (if
we were to say that certain people are better
than others). That is to say, by stepping up and
being the adult, and not simply retaliating with
an insult and sinking to their level, you are not
only ending the problem (even if temporarily),
you are showing your maturity over theirs. It's
the same as the "Sometimes it hurts more when you
don't hit" concept...where not lashing out at
said person usually makes them feel guiltier in
the end.
Understand?
That said, I have to say that Mouse is a
perfectly wonderful person. She may make
mistakes, but that doesn't affect the kind of
person I see her as. I have very much enjoyed her
friendship in this hobby, and am very sad to hear
that she may be leaving it.
Which moves me to another point. She doesn't seem
to want to leave the hobby willingly, and she
seems to be in dire straits as well. Mocking
someone in that position is just horrid. It's
like kicking a dog while it's down. If you take
some kind of gruesome personal pleasure in it,
then so be it, I cannot control your feelings
just as you can't. But please, learn to control
YOURSELF.
If you have any quibbles with her personally,
then take them up in the same manner: personally.
