Recently, I sent a package out to a town that
isn't even out of my state - it's about an hour
and a half drive north of me, near Boston. Some
other things to note: When I send mail out of the
town where I work, it is sent directly to Boston
because Boston is a mail hub. So I sent this
package first class, since it should have only
taken two days without speeding it along. I was
even counting on four or five given "holiday"
mail traffic. It took a week and a half!
Strangely, it showed up right after I talked to
my awesome post office people and asked if they'd
maybe drop a call to Boston for me. I didn't even
have time to bring back the "mail search" form.
It was really weird! o_0 I agree that I don't
understand how things are this bad. I'm a bit
spoiled in that I'm right near two hubs (Boston
and Providence) and know where to take my mail to
direct it striaght to one or the other. (Faster
one: Providence - I once had normal airmail reach
Japan in about 48 hours!) I can't begin to
imagine what people who are far away from hubs
do. . . o_0;
