Unforunately, I've only just now had to deal
with the Postal Inspectors - not job related,
thank goodness!! ^_^;; I had a registered item
get lost in transit. :/ Luckily, it only
contained some doujinshi and manga.. Anyway,
it's taken them about 6 or 8 weeks to get in
touch with me from the time the gal who filed
the claim sent in said claim. However, I was not
in any kind of rush since my items are fairly
easily replaced. If it had been a cel I would
have been all over their sh*t. :P

Personally, I don't understand how it could have
been lost either. While I'm not familiar with
the inner workings of the processing centers, I
do know that as a carrier, I have to sign out
for any accountables items (that being: Express
mail, registered mail, EMS, insured.. along with
any random CODs, etc) and if *I* lose one - that
comes out of *MY* paycheck. =P Yep, no joke. I
can't see the processing centers being any
different. There is someone who has to sign for
the accountable items and any change of hands -
and all of them have to be scanned in as well.
It baffles me that they're responding so non-
chalantly ... no, I take that back - It pisses
me off. :p It's a severe lack of curtesy and
professionalism and I'm sorry you're having to
see it. (Although from the horror stories some
people have posted, it doesn't sound all that
uncommon *sweatdrop*)

Anyway, that package couldnt have just gotten up
and walked out on its own. Either a postal
employee developed sticky fingers (businesses
lose more to internal theft then anything else,
unfortunately :/) or it's sitting in that
processing center. You did say the tracking
shows the last "stop" recorded was at the
processing center, correct? I don't know how
well it would work, but have you tried going to
the center itself? Sorry, getting a little late
here so I'm a tad muddy in remembering.. ^^;
And I dont want to have to go back and check and
lose all this. ;P If not, go there and ask to
speak to the postmaster there, or the postal
inspector stationed there. The higher up the
ladder you go, the more results you'll get - and
sadly, the better the customer service will
become. (I think the level of customer service
should be a lot higher then it is ... *sigh*)

Anyway, hope that helps at least a little. Also
hope it makes sense since it's way late for me..
hehe
