Yeah, I'd definitely have to agree that getting
your priorities straight is important. And, if
you can, try and stick to collecting cels from
only one or two of your favorite series, or even
just one or two characters.

That should help a lot, and I wish I would have
been able to do that. Right now I'm promising
myself to just stick to a few characters, and
even then, only buy cels of them that I *really*
like and are worth all that money.

Or, as someone else also said, you could try some
other hobbies as well. I'm not saying that you
should give up cel collecting alltogether, but
maybe if you had a few things you collected
instead of just one, you wouldn't be worrying
about cels and checking 'Keep Track' all the time.

That sometimes works for me. I collect tons of
Saiyuki and Weiß Kreuz stuff besides just cels.
Sure, you sometimes end up spending a lot of
money on merchandise, but so far nothing I've
bought has cost me nearly as much as my cels.

I could go on forever about how addicting this
hobby is and ways to try and stop yourself from
spending so much money on this stuff, but
basically, what I try to do is just make a list
of a few cels that I would really love to have,
and then just wait and wait and save up your
money until one of those cels shows up. That way
hopefully you won't have to worry about going
into debt by spending too much, and you'll have a
cel that you know you will really love since you
wanted it before it even came along. In my
opinion, impulse buys are the worst... you end up
spending money you probably don't have on a cel
that you hadn't even planned on buying.

Hope that helps a little. I wish I had some real
advice to give out, but these are just my own
opinions. All I can say is that maybe your
addiction will get better over time. I know I've
actually gotten much better about this. I can
actually go and look at cels, find one that I
want, and actually not buy it! I mean, I've spent
so much money on this hobby already, and I really
love my collection. Do I really need to spend any
more money on cels?

Yes, I think they're very beautiful, and of
course I can think of a million more scenes or
characters or whatever that I would love to have
cels of. But, I've been so very lucky to find the
cels that I have, I should really just relax and
be happy with what I've got. It's important to
remember that cel collecting should be a *hobby*
and not an addiction.
