Some photo shops (Ritz, perhaps?) can go from
negative or print to disc (getting around your
lack of a scanner) and, optionally, upload the
digital images to a web site (so you don't need
ftp). I have seen such places on the web - you
mail them a roll of film, they do the rest. There
may be local shops that'll do the same for you.
