The PO is still going through all of its
mandatory training, and for carriers its pretty
extensive. Going through the hiring process has
actually become even MORE difficult since the
Sept. 11th attack, and later anthrax scares. They
are being more cautious then ever with new hires,
in order to weed out further threats from inside
attacks.
Whether he's new or been around, the actions of
this particular carrier are horrible and there is
no excuse for it.
And yes, of course the people working at the PO
are going to be professionals and not show any
fear (or you'd hope so at least - besides, most
of the ones who were that afraid quit already :P)
Also, most of the clerks at the counters have the
least contact with mail of anyone working there
besides the actual postmaster. ;) But the threat
is still there and we all hear about it day after
day in either talks from the postmaster, emails
we have to read, or the off color joke from
customers we are delivering to (which gets old
really really fast, believe me :p)
Anyway.. I guess all I have to say before I go to
bed (ugh, have to be up in less then 4 hours..
why can't I sleep?? -_-) is just the one basic
concept I live by: Treat people with the respect
and courtesy that *you* would like to be treated
with. It's good kharma. ;) There's enough
negativity in the world at the moment. :/ |
