Just add my small bit of what happened here. Man,
never been so scared in my life I can say. I live
2o-30 minutes away from DC and my father used to
work at the Pentagon. I am so glad he doesn't
anymore and retired, but he works now close by it
in some building. Yesterday was so scarry for me.
You see, my brother is in charge of diplomatic
security and works at the State Department. We
couldn't get a hold of him all day and didn't
know what was going on because we kept hearing
rumors of things that were happening and bombs
where he worked. My father called and they were
evacuating his building, then lost touch with him
as he was walking out with a number of other
people, when the Pentagon got hit. I thought he
was dead for a moment and started to cry because
I felt like I was in the middle of a war zone
down here and took a while to get a hold of him
again. Scary I can say for the east coast being
in the middle of this. Well, they both got out
all right and my brother got a police escort out
of DC for a number of blocks greatly enough! He
got home to his two kids and wife, so happy is
all I can say and he was outside when the plane
went down at the Pentagon, and said it sounded
like a canon going off and they evacuated his
building in a hurry telling them all to leave. He
said he just saw a rush of people running down
the streets and all he wanted to do was get home
to his kids. I just never felt that scared in all
my life, for my family and myself. Kept hearing
planes go over my house last night and the first
time I heard one thought one plane was going to
crash in some nobody area because of something
and freaked the crud out of me. Realized now they
must of been fighter jets, but that's how close I
suppose I am to the city. I live in the suburbs
out of the city, but can tell you, never felt
fear like that in a long time. I know it must be
the same way in NY and for people close by. So
sad and completly for our whole nation. And just
to think, I just got back from a trip at dulles
airport too a few weeks ago-I'm never flying
again all I can say. It's just a tragedy and well
the people involved, hope they are taken care of
so it can never happen again. I mean I just hope
the US can come together now and well, support
one another through this and the US takes
measures so we can live here in peace and not be
afraid for our lives and so that our children can
sleep easy. My heart goes out to those who lost
someone and who don't know yet what has happened
to someone they love or know. My father lost all
his friends he is afraid, from which he has
worked with for over 20-30 years at the Pentagon.
He doesn't know who is alive now or who isn't and
we are praying some have survived this. May we
all hope for the best and live a peaceful life
here and stand strong together, united.
My love and prayers go out for all the people of
this whole country and for those who lost or are
grieving. *hugs and kisses* |
