I know that quite a few of you have experiences
on both selling and buying cels before. So far,
I've only bought cels, so I have experience only
on one side of the bargaining table. I recently
had an experience with a cel I bought that while
it hasn't made me upset, it has irked me a bit.
I would like to ask the community a couple of
questions to sort of judge how anal I'm being (or
not being) on some things :) I doubt there will
be any consensus, but I'm curious as to the range
of answers I'll get.
Since this deals with another person that may or
may not read this message, I'm not posting my name
or any other details that will point out who this
person may be to anyone other than that person if
he or she reads this. As I said before, I'm not
sure how much of this is "bad behavior" on the
person's part and how much of this is possibly
inflated expectations on my part, so I don't want
this person to receive any reputation smear for
it.
So, now that the disclaimers are made, here are
the questions:
1) From the time payment is received, what
should be the maximum amount of time that passes
before you mail the cel(s) or at least send a
courtesy email explaining there will be a delay?
2) What do you feel about someone who lists some
slight defects, but doesn't mention a more major
defect...doesn't directly lie about it, but
withholds any information on it? (Assume it's a
defect that isn't apparent from an average sized
scan unless you are specifically looking for it,
so you wouldn't notice it when buying the cel but
after you get the cel and know exactly where and
what to look at, you can see it's pre-existing)
3) Does the fact that a person posts here on
occasion make you more or less tolerant when
things go awry in transactions? (The argument of
"Blah seems like an ok person from his posts.
I'm sure he has a good excuse." vs. "I know blah
is a cel collector just like I am. How could she
treat me this way?")
Thanks to anyone who helps satisfy my curiousity
by answering these questions.
