I use an Epson Perfection 1200 that I got last 
year. Works great, though I wish I had gotten one 
with a bigger scan area. Mine only scans 
8.5"x11.5". Still, it picks up colors my old Acer 
scanner never could. 

I think this model is discontinued, but you could 
probably pick up a similar Epson for around $100. 
I got mine on sale at Best Buy for $89.99.
