Hello ^_^
I wish, I truly do, that I didn't need to use
eBay. But there are lots of reasons that eBay is
a good thing. First of all, I have only about 5
times (in the entire time I have been collecting
cels) been able to sell cels directly on this
Forum. The same is true with our sales website,
it just doesn't get the eyeballs that eBay gets.
And when you are desperate for money to pay for
something, having eBay around to "promote" the
item for you really helps. There are a lot of cel
collectors that don't read the forums, and don't
shop at direct sale sites, they only use eBay.
When I can't sell a cel here or on the JACML or
on my own site, I usually end up putting it on
eBay so one of those "ebay only" people will buy
it. There is no other way for me to get those
people's attention :( and having cels sit on
Aino.com for months without selling doesn't do me
any good and just proves that direct sale isn't
as obvious as eBay.
The weird thing about eBay too is that I will
offer a cel up for sale directly for months (for
example, I had a nice HYD cel that I offered for
$150). NO ONE took me up on it. I put it up on
eBay a few weeks back, and it went for $305.00.
Why? I really don't know. It's happened to me
with a lot of cels O_o. In fact, I've even posted
them up here and been harassed that the price was
too much that I was asking direct sale, and then
I would have it go for twice as much on eBay. All
I can guess is that the people on the forum are a
lot more frugal than the people on eBay ^_^;
Finally, the other good thing about eBay is that
if the person doesn't pay, you can leave them bad
comments, etc. They are making a legal contract
to pay you.
So, I don't hate eBay. I actually like eBay a
lot. However, they have ways that you can
pay "smarter" instead of paying top dollar. And,
even though it may upset people, it's still nice
to have an out if your $750 Please Save My Earth
cel is selling for $35.00 with 5 minutes to go
^_^;; and for only $0.35 :)
