Obviously, like the others said, the seller *can*
do anything they want. However (and being bred as
a scientist has given me this position), *can*
NEVER means *should*.
I haven't had this happen about a cel, but I was
once bidding on an import video game that I
*really* wanted for my friend's birthday. I was
determined to get it to the point that I didn't
bother looking into other presents. At the last
moment of the auction (ten day one, mind you),
the seller cancelled all the bids and cancelled
the auction. Why? "Decided not to sell item." As
far as I'm concerned, that decision is made
**BEFORE** an item is put up for auction - not
after. I was very disappointed. . . And PISSED
that I had to go find a "last minute" present for
my friend. ~_~
Other than something unfortunate happening to the
item before the end of the auction, there should
be NO acceptable reason for cancelling an
auction. It wouldn't be considered acceptable if
I cancelled my bid and my reason was: "Decided
not to buy the item." >_<
