Everyone at some point is told, what they do or 
collect is crazy only to realize that the people 
who were telling them that wish THEY were doing 
it. Thats why they're saying you shouldn't give 
up the things you love. 
 I am unsure of your situation but believe that 
ultimately we are the preveyors of our owe 
device. You must do what YOU believe is the right 
and only take the advice of those around you as 
guidance and not fact. When your grandmother 
questioned your purchasing of 'cartoons', did you 
say to yourself; "shes right, this is nothing 
more than stupid cartoons, I'll quit collecting" 
No, you took what she said, filed it in the back 
of your mind and said to yourself; "she just 
doesn't understand it" 
  It is a noble endeavor to be a helping part of 
your family, but just don't do it at the expense 
of yourself. Part with those items of which you 
can, but never give up the ones you love...
