Dear Bay,
P.S. Whoops again ~_~! I almost forgot to mention
this. The USPS can only issue international
postal money orders to CERTAIN countries in which
they have an agreement with to do so. You need to
ask your local post office which countries are
available, but Japan is one of them.
For countries that are WEST of St. Louis, MO (or
is it Chicago, IL?), the post office can issue you
an international postal money order on the spot
that you can mail right there like Canada and
Japan.
For countries EAST of St. Louis, MO, those
require ANOTHER type of international postal money
order -_-! This applies to most European
countries. The cost of THESE SPECIAL money orders
are around $7.00 when I last checked =/. You fill
out a form at the post office and pay for the
international postal money order in cash as usual,
BUT it will take 4-6 weeks for the USPS to issue
you an international postal money order @_@! This
is because for these countries EAST of St. Louis,
MO, your request to send a money order to someone
outside the U.S. MUST go through St. Louis, MO,
first! They send your request to St. Louis, MO,
where they will convert your amount into that
country's currency and issue an international
postal money order for that amount to the issuing
country! They then SEND the money order out back
to you I think (or is it to the person you're
issuing it for? I forget -_-!). PLUS some of
those countries might charge the recipient a FEE
for cashing it in O~O! Some recipients might not
get charged a fee if their bank is based in the
U.S. though =/. It all depends on the
recipient's access.
Okay, sorry to muddle down the question with all
this gibberish! For Japan, it's just the easy
pink one which costs the amount you need $3.25
in CASH from your local post office =} for amounts
UNDER $700.00.
Whew! Okay, that's probably more than you wanted
to know -_-! I'm still on that posting high =P!
Sincerely,
Sonia |
