be why he seemed offended.

but I know that quite a few disney animators 
like Miyazaki's stuff.

some of them have yet to be enlightened 
though, and if you ask them what Nadia is, 
they look at you with this quizical expression 
like "is that an anime..? I havent heard of it" 
(and they are being honest... alot of them 
havent seen much anime at all)

if all they know of it is pokemon and 
sailormoon, then it may be understandable 
why the balk at the assumption of being 
'inspired' by anime. (no offense to either 
series, ... *L* )
