Then go get one of the pink IPMOs for $51. See,
what happens is that when they take that to their
post office, they get yen *immediately*. The only
confusing thing here is their wording - because
we on the US side never see the yen side of the
IPMO. Most people in the US and even the people
at the post office have no idea how the IPMO is
paid to the people in Japan. So when the seller
says they want a money order that will be drawn
in yen, they mean to send one of these IPMOs.
(And NOT, a bank's MO or bank check, or a
domestic money order, or even an international MO
from another company - since those are not paid
in yen.)
So send the international money order from the
*post office* for $51 and you will be fine. I'm
assuming this is Tetsu you're talking about - and
they DO accept IPMOs.
