I still disagree with Ebay's crisis with people
putting links to other sites in the item
descriptions. If a store wnats to garner more
business by auctioning off some goods, then so be
it. Ebay gets business, the store gets business
and everyone *should* be happy. And it is NOT
"free" advertising - last I checked, you have to
pay money to list an item on Ebay.
Yes, Ebay is not a store - and being not a store,
they cannot tell a storeowner who has paid their
listing fee to go somewhere else. A "real" store
has just as much right to buy a listing space as
a private individual.
Ebay is very VERY busily trying to forget that
they're nothing more than a GLORIFIED YARD SALE.
And an increasingly OVER-glorified yard sale, at
that.
But I also noted your point about the phrasing
Misa used. . . It *can* easily be read more than
one way. Lately you're simply best leaving that
kind of information off and letting people write
to you if they need the information up front. I
actually simply stopped accepting any Paypal
payments from anyone. It was too much of a pain
on all fronts. (And I don't even have to worry
about fees since I don't sell enough to need more
than the personal account.)
