You a reproduction cel out of a sketch. I've
done it before. It's easier if you have the
sketch but you can play around with adobe or some
other drawing program and get the outline. Of
the two (sketch or cel), I think the cel is more
important to have if you want to make a copy.
One question I do have is the fading of
paint. I've made even the lines of my fancels
out of paint using a paintbrush. This makes it
very tediuous and time-consuming. Are there pen
like "thingies" (for lack of a better word) that
are more resistant to fading and easier to
apply? Brushes also make the line thickness hard
to control.
Any insight anyone has would be greatly
appreciated. Here is a cel I reproduced
(yeah...no originality but took a heck of a long
time for me to apply the lines by brush). I'm
thinking of making an original one next time --
maybe her playing the violin or something...any
suggestions?
