If it really bothers you, just shop around --
sequences do get split up. That's the beauty of
the free market, there are other places you can
go.
Strange that someone would argue that Rick has
the right to set whatever price he wants for a
cel, and yet derride people for buying things off
of Yahoo Japan -- it seems a little hypocritical.
He's free to do whatever he wants with his
merchandise (agree with you entirely on this
matter), but we're not free to shop whereever we
choose to?
To add to the debate, I read an interesting
article, which argued that the father of the free
market system, Adam Smith, was against setting
prices to what the market will bear. Take this as
you will.
Having said the above, I'd also like to say that
Rick does have some lovely cels. When you go
flipping through web sites, some nice cels can be
attributed to him. If you go through the forum,
this holds true as well. One good thing about his
prices, is that they scare off speculators and
the cash goes to fund other cel expeditions.
Wouldn't you rather have such profits go to the
dealers then some bozo with internet access and
an ebay account?
(I wonder if anyone will want to pummel me to
death with their cel book because of what I said.
Hmm. . . . Probably not, this is so far along, I
doubt anyone will read it.) |
