I don't remember if the cel gathering last year was Friday
night, but I think that's best instead of Friday afternoon
as kabukimoon suggested. This way, those who register on
Friday can at least have a chance to check out the
convention and/or settle down and get a bite before the
meeting.
Although talking about the same things each year can be
boring, there are always new collectors who have never
heard it. It's like giving a talk at an academic conference,
where some people will know everything that you're telling
them during the background section, and for others, it will
all be new material. It wouldn't be so bad if the first 5
minutes were spent doing that, which allows people who
arrive late (perhaps deliberately, for those who would be
bored by this introductory material ^_~) to not miss the
new topics.
I like the idea of discussing fake cels and the topic of
gengas and pre-production artwork. This was covered to some
extent during last year's anime cel production poster
session, but a more in depth talk about the various types
of gengas would be good.
