Okay, I have to ask... is there some ravening 
monster locked in the sewers of Japan, which can 
only be placated (and thus prevented from 
destroying Tokyo) by feeding him all the goddamn 
special effects layers produced by anime studios?

Or, to be more blunt, where the heck are the 
effects for some of my cels?  I have a glowing 
reconstructed Tenchi, sans glow.  I have a 
fireless fireball, and a dragon slave which looks 
like nothing more than a bowling ball in midair.  
And now, praise all the cel gods, I have an 
absolute dream cel of Gourry grabbing for a 
vanishing Lina/Lord of Nightmares, but the glow is 
mysteriously absent.

So the question remains... why are effects layers 
so rare?  I think I've seen more cels for sale 
with extra mouths/eyes/etc. than I have with their 
associated effects.

Can anyone, if you'll pardon the pun, shed some 
light on this conundrum?
