Would a fire proof box do any good?  Remember that just because what's inside isn't exposed to the flames, the box can't help but get really really hot inside.  Wouldn't cels just melt together in a blob in a fireproof box?  And the box would be heavier to grab when you are trying to run out of the burning building...
