Sorry this is not a flame, just very curious
Perhaps you should show us your gallery, and let
us be the judge, and see what kind of good stuff
you found in Tokyo, It is extremely hard to get
good cels, if you are not experienced, or have
connection, you don't just walk into a cel store,
and expect to find a bargain cel, it is possible
to find a few great bargains, but definitely not
a lot.
I am surprised that someone who been to Tokyo
would make a post like that, perhaps, the last
time you went was two years ago?????
It is not the same anymore, even for someone with
lots of experience or connection, the difficulty
of finding good stuff has definitely increase,
so did the price.
Dealer can mark up whatever amount they want,
they truely deserve it, consider the amount of
time and hard work spent, marking up the price
is just nature of any types of business, business
do need to make money, other wise, why waste time
and effort, most cel dealer collect too, have you
seen dealer's galleries, these are build with
lots and lots of effort hard work, and countless
trips, I truely do not think anyone would go to
Japan just to buy cels to resell, the true
motivation for dealers to go to Japan is finding
cels for their collection first, and sell the
extra cels to pay for the expenses, and save up
for next trip.
It is truely impossible to find lots of good cels
that can truely sell, especially now, remember
there is the Yahoo Japan, Japanese do the same,
buy at cels store/conventions and sell on Yahoo
Japan, this has increase the difficulty of
finding good cels in Japan.
