I keep on seeing accusations that people intentionally bid
high on auctions with no intentions to pay, just to raise
the price. This is not an accusation or slam at anyone, but
do people really do this?? What happens if you win the bid?
You either have to pay, or else get negative feedback, and
a lot of people won't accept bids from those with negative
feedback anymore? Is this just a random accusation, or is
there really a basis for making these claims? I mean
really! - I just won a cel for a LOT more than I thought it
would go, but I feel confident that the other bidder(s) were
as sincere in wanting it as I was! I find it hard to
believe that someone just raised the price out of spite -
and it would really piss me off to find out it was true.

On a related note - has anyone heard of any problems with a
dealer bidding on their own item, in another name, just to
raise the price? I've heard of it happening in other
auctions before.
