That's an annoying question, at least for me to
answer : If I do, people will complain that I am
"accusing" them.

Anyway, as I don't realy care if people complain
about me or not, I will still answer : I have a
similar cel from the same sequence that I bought
from an US dealer (not from a second-hand japanese
shop) for $50-$70. Can't remember exactly.

I will put this in comparison with the few cels
of Belldandy in swimsuite sitting next to Keichi
on the beach that several dealers sold a while ago :
Around the same size for the character. Both centered.
A nice position for the Belldandy one. Her face was
fully visible with eye open. If I remember, Nichibei
sold for $120. I sold for $85. Another dealer sold for
around that price to.

To summarize : I would say that, taking into account
the especialy high yen rate, a price bellow $60 is
a good deal. Anything between $60 and $90 is not
too bad. $90 to $120 is ok. Anything above $120 is
expensive. A real matching background would justify
a somehow higher price but probably not $250 to
people informed about the general value of such cel.

My best guess for the price in a japanese cel event
or shop : 2000 to 4000 yen. (less than $20 to $40)
I wouldn't even consider buying it at 10000 yen
(less than $100). And that still leave a pretty
good margin to $250.

I don't say I am right. That's just my best estimate
based on my knowlege, experience and what I saw around
both in Japan and on internet.

Maybe they paid it more than that. Maybe not. I
don't care and I am not interested in knowing.

Cheers,
Yann Stettler
