general practice... (Fri Dec 31 19:37:11 1999

I agree with Mark on the rescanning point, its not a nice truth to face, but many of us have had to deal with people who've tried to sell us fakes and Megan's explanation of the Pirotess fiasco only proves the point. That Pirotess image was really doubtful and its only prudent for the rest of us to be careful right? The Garr (?) sketch was scanned large, if the cel was done in a size similar to that, or just the cel alone without the background, this whole mess could have been avoided. The forum accepts large scans :) I think just in general practice, people should try to scan cels in a manner so as to make it _undoubtable_ that the image is from a cel. You know, clear paint edges and crisp lines, all that sort of thing. If that means using someone elses scanner (like I have to do all the time now that I am a student in a foreign country) then don't you think its worth it? It does justice to the cel and keeps our reputations for honesty intact. I hope I havent offended anyone, this is just a suggestion for scans in the future. Best wishes for the new year :) -Ash |
