P.S. I didn't come up with this! I learned this from a master! (Mon Jan 3 21:23:40 2000

Dear Emika or Marie, Whoops, I forgot it was Emika who first posted this. Sorry =(. Anyway, I forgot to mention that I did not come up with this brilliant technique (I'm not that creative!)! I learned to do this after asking Dave from Nichibei Anime Club on how to properly preserve cels, and then I just copied his technique =). My cel books may be fat, unfortunately, but the cels are tape free if I can help it. If it comes taped or stapled, I usually try to avoid tampering with it. In one case, I did tamper with some staples on a cel that I had that came framed (the stupid framer stapled the cel onto the mat), and it ripped a little corner off the cel! Actually, I have no idea if I ripped it or it was ripped to begin with because the framer also used archival tape too after seeing what he did with the staples. Now that cel with it's ripped corner is now in a cel bag with the corner held into place by a post-it note (a very archival safe glue!). Sincerely, Sonia |
