The original point of this whole thing is that both Taro and Yann think it's wrong to post scans of other people's cels without their permission.

This has nothing really to do with what might come of posting scans of "missed" cels, or even if it is right for someone to declare that no one can use their scan of their cel. This has to do with the fact that there *are* people who are not happy about others "stealing" scans of their cels from their websites (or from a dealer's website) and both Yann and Taro want to try to accomodate these people's wishes.

I'll be brave enough to admit. . . I do freely take scans of other people's cels whenever I darn well please to. Half of the fun I have when cel shopping is finding something that, while maybe I can't buy it, will look good as desktop wallpaper for my computer. ***BUT*** I also see the other side of the debate, and I would never reuse one of those scans in a public manner without first contacting the owner of the cel. End of line. That should be courtesy, if nothing else, and something that people should do independant of where they stand in the "scan stealing" debate.

But still, all that said, it breaks down to this: It is very easy to accomodate the wishes of the people who don't want their scans reused and this is where Yann and Taro have chosen to stand together. Think this way. . . if it were *your* cel, and *you* cared, you would probably be much more appreciative of their efforts.
