I want to add a few things : 1) If you can't read japanese, don't be surprised if the item end-up not being what you wanted : Some cels are promotional (not production), others are made by people in cels painting school and finaly some are not cels at all but print... 2) Even with a traduction software, you may have problem for paiement : Traduction software can't realy translate an address, name or bank name. 3) Most people will want that you pay by _bank transfer_. They won't accept IPMO. So expect your bank to charge you a lot for the transfer if you are in USA. Also, people will most of the time provide you with minimal bank/account information. It may not even be realy accurate as the spelling of the name may vary. That mean that if your bank doesn't want to show some willingness in doing international wire transfer, you may end-up with your money who-know-where... 4) And naturaly, as someone already mentioned, many seller will simply refuse to send to a foreign country. 5) If you bid, win and manage to get the transaction done, don't expect to be able to complain or do anything in case of problem (whatever the item is not what you were thinking, it was damaged during the shipping...) if you don't read/write japanese. Oh, and the auctions there seems a little weird : I some some cels re-posted at least 9 times without any explaination. (and there was bids on those cels). I saw seller suddenly biding on their own cel to change the minimal sale price if it wasn't higher enough at the end of the auction. I saw cels removed from auction without any explaination. And finaly, I saw Yahoo program doing very nice mess : When accessing from one computer, you saw a differant winner than when accessing from another computer. For the same item... (and no it's not a question of cache). I saw some cels changing from prices and going up and down without anyone biding on it... (from day to day, you never know what the price will be). Well, don't come and complain that you weren't warned... Cheers, Yann Stettler |
