OK. Now, I'm a little confused after reading everyone's
posts. Let's say you bought two cels that both have
mismatched backgrounds and you feel that the cels would look
better with the other's background so you switched them.
Then at a later date you decide to sell one or both of them.
Do you think the seller is obligated to note this in the
description? Of course, I would note that the background
does not match the scene the cel comes from, but I don't
think I would have to note that I switched the backgrounds
that never matched any cel I had in the first place.

I have a cel coming in the mail from a scene that takes
place outdoors, but it's coming with an indoor background. If it's not stuck to the cel, I'm taking it off because I
think it actually devalues the cel with it included. But,
on the other hand, it will probably enhance another cel so
I'll put it behind a different one. As long as I note that
it does not match the scene if I decide to sell it, I don't
see a reason to note that I ever switched them. (I should
say that I only collect one series so there would be no
danger of me mismatching backgrounds to the wrong series any
more than they already are.)

What are people's opinions on this?

Another point:
One problem I have is with people using the word "original".
What exactly does this mean? It seems to mean that it was
originally sold to the seller with the background. But, so
what? I basically look for the word "matching". If I see
that, I assume (and it better be) it matches the scene as
seen in the anime. Otherwise, I assume it doesn't match
even if it says "original background".

Bottom line is I agree with Leigh, it's wrong when things like mis-matching, etc. are not noted. It happens all the time and it sucks. But, I don't think we have to go
overboard and note every little thing you do with your cels.

I may have read into some people's posts things that weren't
intended, but I'm still curious what other people think
about my points.

(Wow this is a long post ~_^)
