This message was certainly thought-provoking!
I guess there're always two sides to everything, digitally
made anime can be as good as traditionally cel-painted ones,
Just look at the new Sol Bianca OVA series(which is fully
digitally animated), its *gorgeous*!! But personally, I
think that Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne would have look
considerably better if it had not been digitally made.
However, I do believe that one day, Japan will switch to
digitally made anime to save costs(esp the big studios like
Gainax).
If I were to continue collecting cels after this happens,
no, I would not go for the genga/douga. I would prefer
buying the repros..or even limited-edition publicity cels.
And even those are pretty rare now. Eg, the Nadesico
repros, Evangelion repros(which are selling at a *decent*
price), etc..
But hey, it may not be such a bad thing after all! Cel-
collecting, to me, is sometimes getting so tiresome...The
pricing, service, everything...
