Wow. I wish I could collect that many cels ^_^ But feel
free to know that there are SOME kids in the US that still
KNOW what cels are :) Of course, I'm the only one I know
of.....
(so sorry if this is getting off topic) You're very right
about how kids here aren't very familiarized with anime,
especially with some sterotypes. When people first heard
of say, Dragonball, most kids though it was ditzy and
cheesy. "FOB material" (F.O.B. as in fresh off the boat).
It's horrible as to how kids label everything these days,
and its hard to believe, but I used to be against anything
that wasn't American, especially cartoons and comics.
Thank gawd that I accidentally stumbled upon an anime video
of Street Fighter at a weekly comic convention and bought it
without knowing what it was. After that shaky start, I got
hooked.
It wasn't surprising that I got hooked on the expensive
hobby of collecting cels. I've joined the animation
department at school, and was always hooked on how animation
really worked.

Too bad it doesn't turn out that easy for some other
non-anime "believers" :)

Cheers,
Carol
