>Yep, I was also at 2h30 and I think that I see who you >(and your daughters) are... :) Weren't they also looking > lot for Sasami ? :) Since there weren't any other kids there I'm sure it was hard to miss us. :) We don't exactly blend in with the crowd too well. :) The kids were searching madly for Ryooki (the critter..and I always see his name in Japanese and can't remember how to spell it in English :P ) since he is a family favorite. It must have been hard for you to even walk out of there as cels are darn heavy!! I cannot imagine trying to carry that many cels home.......and I live here. I very seldom see other kids collecting cels....I don't think I have ever seen any other gradeschool age kids collecting them here in Japan. I've asked some of my Japanese friends about that and they said that cel collecting is too expensive. But shoot, those darn Nintendo games that most of the kids play cost more than most cels. There are cels sold here within the price range that my kids can buy with their spending money. Marie got some cels of Guru Guru Mahojin (please forgive me if I mangled the name on that....she always gets onto me for getting it wrong) for like $1 a piece. Natsumi just picked up a cel from Kiki's Delivery Service for $5... yes, it is rather itty bitty but she still loves it and it was within her budget. You'd think that more kids here in Japan would be in to cel collecting since they see so many of the anime on TV. Darla :) |
